Let’s Play FFT 04 – By the Skin of Our Teeth

Got a real barn burner this week.

Some close calls! Some big plot movements! Including the end of the first chapter of the game. Really moving right along, some of these battles took me hours and hours of grinding before. I did a little bit this time, but it’s been way, way less than usual.

This time we really get to see Argath’s true colors. This guy has been extremely hatable since the start, but the voice acting adds a whole new dimension. I remain very impressed with it, one of the best new additions to this version of the game.

Feels like my party is really starting to take shape. It’s funny how these generic characters take on more of a life of their own as you make your way through the game. Back in the original, they felt more real than the story characters, somehow. They were brought up to power from nothing… and the errands! All these little mechanical things add so much personality to them. It’s great.

Yes, the game still has more to be revealed, as you make your way through. I think people forget how much there was going on. It’s not quite on the level of Disgaea or anything, but it’s not just going from battle to battle either.
