Just a heads-up.

I didn’t want to be radio silent after last week, but I am also in no condition to write the post today. Went to a birthday party up in Seattle, I am stuffed and exhausted. But stay tuned for The Chase.—Third Day one week from today!
Been thinking about what I want to do after I finally finish this big Moby Dick project, which has been drawn out over so many years. I intended it to just last about a year, coinciding with my latest reread of the novel, which I’d read several times before. But in the end, it was not to be! My life has changed a ton in the meantime, and it’s made it harder to write as much as I used to.
And yet… I retain this desire to get my thoughts out there. To create things, and put them out into the world! I’d like to write more about games… I’ve actually finished a couple this year, and I’d like to write some… not quite reviews, but things relfecting on them, similar to my Moby Dick posts. I’m not exactly evaluating the quality of that venerated tome, after all.
There’s a part of me that wants to move all of this to my own, personal website, not a wordpress site. The CEO of this company (which also owns my beloved tumblr) is kind of a lunatic! Which, like, hey, that’s capitalism, but even more than usual. Though he has at least been quiet lately.
I have the skills now to make something just as good, though I would miss the Numbers that are easily accessible here. And I would lose the like… internet equivlanet of street cred that I get from having this site for so long. That’s part of why I’ve been getting more and more traffic, year over year. The longer a site is around, the more legitimate it is. I’d be starting over!
Well, I do want to get something up, maybe I’ll write about that process on here too. That’d be fun, make an old fashioned web log of this blog. The original purpose of this format!
A fun fact about PHP, the technology still underlying this platform and something like 75% of all websites on the internet: it started as a personal project. It stood for Personal Home Page, and was created by Rasmus Lerdorf to help manage his own little website way back in 1994.
Now it’s one of those fun little nested acronyms that tech nerds love, with PHP standing for PHP Hypertext Protocol.

Anyway, I’m rambling. I may write a post about Romancing SaGa 2: Rise of the Seven later this week, or maybe not. Depends on what sort of a mood I’m in. But unless there is some sort of personal disaster (knock on wood) I’ll get you all that Moby Dick post next sunday! (not actually the final one, there’s an epilogue)
